An educational service from the Physicians’ Institute to make you a more confident and skilled user of medical information. This set of educational modules was developed by Mark Ebell, M.D., family physician and Associate Professor at the Medical College of Georgia, and currently Deputy Editor of the journal, American Family Physician. Dr. Ebell was also a founder of InfoRetriever, developer of InfoPOEMs®, which is now owned by John Wiley & Sons.

The course will begin by giving you a framework for keeping current and answering clinical questions, called Information Mastery. The next module helps you learn how to ask a good question. The third module introduces you to a variety of evidence-based sources of information on the Internet, and the fourth gives you some tricks for making PubMed as useful as possible. The fifth module helps you choose a handheld computer, so you can have medical information with you wherever you go, and the final module introduces you to some evidence-based sources of information for handheld computers.
