The Physicians' Institute is completing the third year of a grant from the Physicians' Foundation for Health Systems Excellence, which supported the E-Technology Academy. This multifaceted program developed and implemented a variety of activities and demonstrations designed to increase the knowledge base of physicians regarding the use of electronic technology in their offices.
The Physicians' Institute is introducing the newest initiatives for 2008:
e-Technology Webinar Series: A webinar series designed for physicians and their staffs focuses on e-prescribing, e-portals, shared experiences of primary care practices and an introduction to the e-Forum. Newt Gingrich, former House Speaker and health policy expert offers his view from a national perspective. Additional resources are also provided. Scroll down to view videos.
e-Technology Forum: Physicians are invited to participate in an electronic forum to share concerns, challenges, successes and questions with electronic medical records and related issues. A local physician champion introduces and moderates this e-Forum. Click here to participate
e-Technology Awards: Georgia physicians that have achieved success in the use of electronic medical records in their practices are recognized through an E-Tech Awards Program. Up to five physician organizations will receive awards in October 2008. To find out more, click here
