Physicians’ Institute New Name

September, 2007

The Physician’s Institute for Excellence in Medicine (Physicians’ Institute), formerly the Medical Association of Georgia Institute for Excellence in Medicine, announced a new name. During 2006, the Institute started managing projects that included State Medical Societies throughout the country, from Massachusetts to Colorado. The Institute’s Board felt that a name change more reflective of the broader scope of programs and activities would be appropriate. The Physicians’ Institute mission remains the same: To improve patient safety and achieve clinical improvements for physicians and their patients. The Physicians’ Institute will be working with medical societies and other medically related organizations throughout the country to accomplish its mission.
