Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The importance of Continuing Medical Education (CME) to physicians cannot be overrated. CME consists of educational activities, which serve to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance, and relationships that a physician uses to provide services for patients, and the profession. The content of CME is that body of knowledge and skills generally recognized and accepted by the profession as within the basic medical sciences, the discipline of clinical medicine, and evidence-based medicine guidelines.

The CME vision for the Physicians’ Institute is twofold:

  • To advance as a national leader in CME development and training of CME professionals and
  • To provide and sponsor CME activities to improve medical practice for physicians and their patients

In support of both current and future development of CME activities, the Physicians’ Institute is pleased to provide two initiatives to promote the provision of excellence in CME.
