The Physicians' Institute is in the second year of a two-year grant from the Physicians' Foundation for Health Systems Excellence, which supported the E-Technology Academy. This multifaceted program developed and implemented a variety of activities and demonstrations designed to increase the knowledge base of physicians regarding the use of electronic technology in their offices. Continuing initiatives include:
E-Technology Speakers Bureau
Continue placing speakers for the speakers bureau with Georgia CME-accredited organizations and county medical societies.
E-Technology Awards
Recognizing Georgia physician practices through an E-Tech Awards Program that have achieved success in the use of electronic technology. Four physician organizations will receive awards in 2007.
Diabetes Disease Management Pilot
Managing a collaborative pilot project with three Georgia MD practices to test a diabetes disease management system that incorporates diabetes performance measurements. The focus of the project is to determine the impact of integrating performance standards into the care of patients with a diagnosis of diabetes.
