CME Collaborative Block Grants

The Physicians' Institute is a national leader in developing a CME model in partnership with other State Medical Societies (SMS). These initiatives provide benefits to SMS and local physicians through SMS-accredited CME providers.
  • Manages CME grant program for SMS accredited organizations in participating states
  • Provides CME Outcomes Training programs in collaboration with SMS
  • Outcomes evaluation integrated into each CME grantee's activity
  • Provides feedback, answering the question, "Did the CME make a difference?"

Current initiatives include:

Improving the Diagnosis and Treatment Anxiety and Depression
Wyeth Supported
Managing physician education activities in five states (Georgia, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, and Oklahoma) focusing on improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of depression and anxiety. The program awarded 22 educational grants in the five states.

Improving the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiac Risk Factors
Pfizer Supported
Managing physician education activities in six states (Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Oklahoma) focusing on improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac risk factors.
