Walker L. Ray, M.D.
President
Dr. Ray is a graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine and is board certified in Pediatrics and a member of the Emory chapter of the national medical honor society of Alpha Omega Alpha. Over his career, Dr. Ray has been active in the Medical Association of Georgia, having served as President, as well as being a 20 year member of the Board of Directors. He has served on numerous committees and chaired several such as the Council on Legislation, Constitution and Bylaws, and Strategic Planning. He is a past recipient of MAG's Joseph P. Bailey Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Ray currently serves, along with Dr. Alan Plummer, as MAG's Representative to the Physicians’ Foundation for Health Systems Excellence where both serve as Vice President. Dr. Ray is a former president of the DeKalb Medical Society where he is a past recipient of the MuCurdy Award for community service. He remains involved with Emory University where he has served as President of the Emory School of Medicine Alumni Board as well as President of the Emory Alumni Association. He currently is Chairman of Emory's Candler School of Theology Committee of 100 as well as being a member of the Medical School Campaign Committee and on the Advisory Communication Committee for the Emory Health Sciences.
Dr Ray and his wife Nancy have three married daughters and five grandchildren.
