Jack M. Chapman, Jr., M.D. is the 153rd President of the Medical Association of Georgia. Dr Chapman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. He earned his degree in medicine at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in 1988. He later completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at the MCG Hospital and Clinics in Augusta. He has been affiliated with several hospitals including Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville Surgery Center, Gainesville Eye Center, Habersham County Medical Center and Murphy Medical Center. Dr. Chapman is active in numerous community and medical organizations including: various leadership roles with Hall County Medical Society; Georgia Society of Ophthalmology; American Academy of Ophthalmology; American Medical Association; American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery; Board of Directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce; the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. Dr Chapman serves on the Governors Health Information Technology and Transparency Advisory Board. In Addition, Dr Chapman serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Hall County Medical Societies Health Access Initiative. Within MAG, Dr. Chapman has served as the Second Vice-President; First Vice-President; Vice-Chairman, Chairman of the Board of Directors and President-Elect.
